STANDING FIRM FOR THE
FUTURE OF ST. CLAIR COUNTY
Our community relies on the fundamental values and principles we share. We can combat the tyranny of the federal government who seeks to aimlessly interfere with our lives by electing strong, conservative leaders to represent us.
MORE THAN JUST A
COMMISSIONER
I never was in the political scene, nor did I desire to be caught up in the drama. Work is the only thing I have ever known. Being your County Commissioner is not about how much money I walk away with, or what I can do for myself, it is simply the idea that I can help make a difference for my county - my HOME. I want my children and grandchildren to be able to say they live in the best county in the State of Alabama. And as Commissioner, or as Bob Mize, I am willing to make sure it gets done.
Best, Bob
MEET BOB
Bob Mize was born on January 7, 1952, in Birmingham, Alabama, spent his early years growing up in the Tarrant/Pinson area. He graduated from Erwin High School in 1969 and answered the call to service by joining the Army National Guard, where he served for six years as part of the 20th Special Forces Group.
Once Bob left the Army National Guard, he decided to move his family to St. Clair County. For over four decades, Bob dedicated his professional life to the American Cast Iron Pipe Co. (ACIPCO) as an Industrial Electrician. In 2011, he retired at the age of 59.
Bob shared a beautiful companionship with his beloved wife, Sherry Gamble Mize, spanning 51 years until her passing on November 7, 2022. Together, they raised a loving family, leaving a lasting legacy. Bob and Sherry have two children, Laurie Mize Henderson (Blaine) and Todd Mize (Kristy), and five cherished grandchildren: Garrett (17), Myles (15), Lila (13), Claire (13), and Lane (10).
Throughout his life, Bob Mize has exemplified dedication, service, and commitment to family and community. When Bob is not in the Commission Chambers, you’ll find him dedicating his free time to community service, such as volunteering for the Pell City Senior Center or cooking for the New London Volunteer Fire Department every month. Outside of community service, Bob will frequently visit our county services, ensuring that every county employee is met with exceptional service and care, and he often finds his way to construction projects all across St. Clair County. In fact, he personally helped pour the new concrete wall surrounding the Veterans Memorial located in front of the Pell City Courthouse.
Bob is a beacon in our community and hopes to extend every invitation to the citizens of St. Clair County to reach out to him in a time of need. He hopes to continue his service on the St. Clair County Commission if he is to be re-elected on Tuesday, March 5th, 2023.
